Tal Koffler
Research Associate
Tal received her B.Sc. in Life Sciences from Tel Aviv University. She completed her M.Sc. in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva. After finishing her Master’s degree, she began working at the Molecular-Genetic Laboratory at the Wolfson Medical Center, collaborating with the Genetics Institute and the Metabolic, Genetic, Neurologic Children’s Clinic. During her work she performed genetic and bioinformatic analysis with the aim of finding the genetic basis of different diseases and syndromes. Her PhD work, completed in our laboratory at Tel Aviv University, was focused on the role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA) in regulating the mechanisms of hearing and deafness. After graduating, Tal became a postdoctoral fellow in our laboratory, focusing also on performing research in the field of precision medicine for the deaf. Tal is now a Research Associate in our laboratory, working on both human genetics with a focus on precision medicine and the study of lncRNAs in the auditory system.
