Lama Khalaily
Ph.D student
Lama is a Ph.D student at Tel aviv Univeristy. She received her B.Sc. in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Jordan University of Science and Technology. She completed her M.Sc. at University of Haifa in Genetic Regulation and Evolution of Developmental Processes. After finishing her Master’s degree, she worked at the Simon Winter Institute of Medical Genetics, Bnai Zion Medical Center- Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. During her time there she focused on research and clinical projects in human genetics.
Currently, her studies are focused on understanding the mechanisms of normal trans-differentiation during different stages. She is using cochlear explant assays and other high-throughput assays to understand the mechanisms underlying the loss of regenerative potential and what factors promote trans-differentiation of supporting cells into hair cells.
